Making a Difference: Our 2026 Service Trip to the Dominican Republic From March 7 to March 14, 2026, members of the Rotary Club of Cleveland School journeyed to the Dominican Republic for an unforgettable week of hands-on international service and cultural immersion. Guided by our motto, Service Above Self, our team worked tirelessly alongside local residents to build safe, durable housing and vibrant community spaces. ## Concrete Impact: What We Accomplished * Built 4 Homes: Constructed safe, stable housing for four deserving families. * Playground Bus & Shelter: Created a fun, safe recreational space for local children. * Essential Deliveries: Hand-delivered community-donated bed sheets, towels, and curtains. Fellowship and Culture Beyond construction, this trip was a beautiful celebration of global fellowship and Dominican culture. We toured a local cocoa plantation to see how traditional chocolate is made from bean to bar. We also shared incredible meals with neighboring Dominican Rotary Clubs, exchanging flags and experiencing the warm hospitality, delicious local cuisine, and rich traditions of the island. We extend a massive thank you to everyone who donated items, supported our fundraisers, and made this impactful journey possible! Ready to Make an Impact? Our service doesn't stop at the border. We are always looking for passionate individuals to help us change lives both globally and right here in Johnston County. * Join us for a meeting: We meet regularly at The Finch-Lee House in Clayton, NC. * Get in touch: Visit our website (https://www.clevelandschoolrotary.org/how-to-reach-us) to learn how you can join our next project or become a member.
